Cogniva Information Solutions, an information governance software company, has recently released a 4.0 version of its C3 Information Governance Suite.
Organizations are increasingly challenged to manage content scattered across multiple systems. More than ever, C3 Information Governance Suite empowers organizations to understand “content within context” and intelligently manage their information assets while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Here is an overview of some of the new features in version 4.0:
Office 365
While C3 has been compatible with the on-premise version of Office 365 since it’s release, C3 will now be integrated with the Web version of Office 365. This means that C3 can now function as a thin client with no local footprint. Cogniva is pursuing its goal to provide a simple automated user interface across platforms.
Distributed Information Governance
C3 model management is made easier through our distributed model maintenance feature. C3 provides an intuitive distributed web-based interface that gives both information managers and end-users tools to edit, approve, and reject suggested changes to the C3 IG Model. Through a decentralized governance process, the integrity of the C3 Governance model is ensured.
Although changes can be made to separate sections of the model, the C3 Distributed Model Maintenance feature allows changes to be rolled back to previous states. Individuals defined through the C3 Authentication Service or imported from the Active Directory (AD) can be assigned different governance roles over the C3 IG Model.
C3 Centralized Metadata Hub
C3 can now be used as a centralized metadata hub to manage and unify metadata between multiple ECM systems. As an example, metadata created and managed in C3 (through the C3 Designer of the C3 Distributed Governance Module) can be synchronized with systems such as SharePoint and OpenText Content Suite to ensure that content is organized with consistent metadata.
Reporting Dashboard Cogniva is introducing new capabilities in C3 4.0 regarding metadata usage analytics. Information managers and users have the ability to collect, analyze, present, and visualize metadata and compliance rules created and assigned by C3.
Enhanced GCDOCS Integration for Government of Canada clients
The new release provides enhanced GCDOCS integration. It is able to push permissions, Record Series Identifiers (RSIs) and attributes metadata in parallel with content routed by C3 directly into GCDOCS. We have also added a feature that provides a means for managing GCDOCS pick list through a controlled, collaborative process.
